Port of Hamina-Kotka sets its sights on permanent transit traffic to and from Russia and growth in Finland

This sight is very much to the liking of the new giant Port of HaminaKotka: from concrete elements, the builders are erecting the terminal through which in the not-too-distant future more than a million tonnes of fertiliser from Russia will travel to the world each year.

Kotka beat out the Russian port of Ust-Luga and Estonia's Sillamäki when the logistics company Fertilog was looking for a place to transfer its fertiliser consignments from railroad cars to ships.

Finland and Russia agree deal on 3G in border areas

Finland has reached agreement with its eastern neighbour on co-ordinating use of the 900Mhz band in mobile communications. The agreement allows for the construction of 3G networks in border areas.
